Healthcare information technology (IT) and electronic medical records (EMR) are major challenges and opportunities for the ModernMedicine community. More than half of the respondents to a ModernMedicine survey do not have EMR, and an overwhelmingly number of those are in solo or 2-10 group practices.
As part of its commitment to developing resources on healthcare IT and EMR adoption, ModernMedicine provides this Directory and Finder for Regional Extension Centers (RECs), which are publicly-funded entities helping healthcare providers in defined geographic areas select, successfully implement, and meaningfully use certified EHR technology. The centers will also help providers become compliant in health information exchange.
ModernMedicine invited each of the RECs to provide specific contact information; details of the geographic area they cover; basic services, technical assistance, or training they offer; special or unique services they offer; the best way to access information and guidance for implementing EHRs; what providers should do or know the following before contacting them; and additional useful information.
